KENNETH RASKIN, 53, of Sacramento, Calif., died Nov. 20, 2014. Ken graduated with 1 1 111 a master's in orchestral conduction from the University of Michigan in 2001 and earlier from Raskin Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, with a bachelor's degree in trumpet performance. He was the direc- tor of operations and orchestra personnel and was associate conductor with the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera for the past six years. He was also a classical trumpeter, performing and conducting in Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay area. Formerly, he served as the assis- tant conductor with the North Carolina Symphony. Ken lived as a passionate musi- cian, conductor and dramatic musical edu- cator and worked to make music accessible and relevant to children and families. He enjoyed biking and traveling. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was a great friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. Mr. Raskin is survived by his brother, Steven Raskin of Berkeley, Calif.; sister, Roberta Raskin (Giorgio Gaudenzi) of Farmington; nephew, Michael Raskin of Santa Cruz, Calif.; a sister-in-law, aunts, uncle and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Hilda and Elmer Raskin, and his sister, Carol Raskin. A memorial service in California will be planned in the coming weeks. WELLS "SKIP" SNOVER, 71, of Farmington Hills, died Nov. 22, 2014.
