The Michigan Department of Human
Services recently honored JVS with
a Michigan Rehabilitation Services
Champion Award in recognition of
the agency's steadfast commitment to
empower individuals with disabilities.
The award honors a new JVS program
that helped 130 Detroit Public School
students with special needs build their
skills through employment readi-
ness training, career exploration and
internships.

Ph.D., scientific

Ford Hospital, is the
recipient of the pres-
tigious 2015 Thomas
Willis Lecture
Award, which recog-
nizes major contributions to the inves-
tigation and management of stroke. It
is given annually by the International
Stroke Conference Program
Committee and the American Stroke
Association's Council on Stroke of the
American Heart Association. Dr.
Chopp will present a plenary lecture in
February 2015 on stroke at the
International Stroke Conference in
Nashville.
