Bartholomew, the
late Suzanne
Bartholomew and

Bartholomew
Leibovitz, will read
from the Torah on
the occasion of her bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Dec. 6, at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield. She will be joined in
celebration by her proud siblings Ryan,
Caroline, Faren and Marli. Ellie is the
grandchild of Helena and Dr. Edward
Bartholomew, Alice and the late Burt
Herman, and Karolyn and Arie
Leibovitz.
Ellie is a student at Derby Middle
School in Birmingham. As part of her
mitzvah project, she organized fun-
draisers where she sold jewelry and
flowers with all proceeds going toward
breast cancer research.

Benjamin

Efros

Cole
Efros, son of Gail
and Bobby Efros,
will celebrate his bar
mitzvah in
December on Mount
Masada in Israel.
Proud grandparents
are Peggy and Stuart
LaKind, and Sandy

and Morrie Efros.
Benji is a student at Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield. He
participated in a family-created pro-
gram called "50 Mitzvahs of Benji," in
which he volunteered and documented
50 experiences from December 2013
to September 2014. Most memorable
included PeerCorps Detroit and
Michigan Animal Rescue League.

Jacob Ryan
Malkovich will lead
the congregation in
prayer on the occa-
sion of his bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
Dec. 6, at Temple
Israel in West
Malkovich
Bloomfield. Joining
in his celebration
will be his proud parents, Beth
Malkovich and Jim Malkovich, and sis-
ter Lyndsey. Jacob is the grandchild of
Laura and Ronald Miller, Marilyn and
Harvey Saperstein, and the late Diane
and John Malkovich.
Jacob attends O.E. Dunckel Middle
School in Farmington Hills. As part
of his mitzvah experience, he donated
tzedekah to Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Isaac Henry Mintz,
son of Dr. Eric and
Michelle Mintz, will
be called to the
Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
Dec. 6, at Temple
Shir Shalom in West
Mintz
Bloomfield. Joining
in his celebration
will be his sister, Eden, and proud
grandparents Gail and Sidney Mintz,
and Myra and Dennis Potocsky.
Isaac is a student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. He volunteered
behind the scenes for the Maccabi
Games this past summer as his mitz-
vah project and also competed as an
athlete in golf.

Lauren Goldie
Schostak, daughter
of Lillian and Mark
Schostak, will be
called to the Torah
as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Dec. 6, at
Adat Shalom
Schostak
Synagogue in
Farmington Hills.
Sharing in her simchah will be her sib-
lings Joshua, Danielle and Seth as well
as her grandparents Ruth Katz,
Marilyn Katz, Elyse Schostak, and
Arlene and Asher Tilchin. Lauren is
also the granddaughter of the late
Lawrence Katz and the late Jerome
Schostak.
Lauren is a student at Hillel Day
School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. Her most meaning-
ful mitzvah experience was being able
to sell jewelry that she designed and
created at the Hillel Day School Shuk
and donating a portion of her profits
to the school.

Silverman, daughter
of Dr. Suzanne
Merkle and Dr. Alan
Silverman, will lead
the congregation in
prayer on the occa-
sion of her bat mitz-

vah on Friday, Dec.
5, at Temple Israel
in West Bloomfield. Sharing in her cel-
ebration will be her siblings Brittany
and Bradley. Jenna is the grandchild of
Nancy and Raymond Silverman, and
Linda and the late Dr. Richard Merkle.
Jenna attends West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. As part of
her mitzvah experience, she volun-
teered at Yad Ezra in Berkley, which
she found to be very meaningful.
