B'nai B'rith Fundraiser Links The Generations

B'nai B'rith held its annual Chinese Auction Fundraiser at the Gourmet Buffet in Novi
— and added a new dimension by opening it up to the children and grandchildren of
the members.
Everyone in attendance brought a "new" or "gently used" item to be auctioned off.
The event was a success, with all proceeds going to benefit the programs and projects
of B'nai B'rith.

but no one can deny that Joan
Rivers made her mark in
America. Born in New York in 1933,
Joan Alexandra Molinsky, better known
as Joan Rivers, was a famous Jewish
American actress, comedian, writer,
producer and television host.
Rivers became nationally known
when she first performed on TV's The
Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson in
1965. After this performance, Rivers fre-
quently appeared on the Johnny Carson
show and eventually became his per-
manent guest host. In 1968, she became
the first woman to host a daytime net-
work television talk show, That Show
with Joan Rivers. In 1990, Joan won a
Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Talk
Show Host and also earned a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Rivers is credited for breaking the
barriers for women in comedy. She con-
