8 Gifts In A Jar

Perfectly packaged in a glass jar, there's a gift for everyone on your list for each night of Chanukah.

Lynne Konstantin I Contributing Writer

S

o many adorable ways to fill a jar,
yet only eight nights.
Gifts in a jar can be as simple
or craftily complex as you want them to
be, but have one thing in common: No one
can resist a bunch of cute stuff smushed
up in a jar, right?
A great gift for grab-bag parties, teach-
ers, co-workers and anyone else on your
list, gifts in a jar can also be easily dressed
up with tags, labels and ribbons in shades
of blue, white and silver for a festive
Chanukah touch.
Try these ideas (visit the links listed
below each photo for full instructions for
each craft), or gather up easy gift ideas of
your own: bath bombs from a local beauty
shop, a jar full of blue and white Jelly
Bellies, homemade jam in a jar or layer
slices of cake and frosting (store bought is
just fine) for an on-the-go cupcake in a jar.

Just The Marshmallows

Caramel Apple In A Jar

Cleans Up Well

Most kids (and many grown-ups)
love to pick out the best part of
a box of cereal — it will be like a
Chanukah miracle when they receive
this vat of Just the Marshmallows,
plucked just for them, from a box
of Lucky Charms (for a kosher ver-
sion: Most kids have a favorite color
of M&Ms or Kellogg's Froot Loops;
pick out all the blue Loops or red
M&Ms, or whichever is your child's
favorite). Visit BuzzFeed.com for
details.

This caramel apple cooks right in
the jar! Fill an 8 oz. wide-mouth jar
(try Kerr's) with mini M&Ms and
wrapped caramels, and top with
an apple and tie with twine. Add a
lollipop stick, and include the easy-
as-pie cooking instructions. Visit
TheGunnySack.com for full instruc-
tions and additional photos.

Jam-packed with men's toiletries,
this grooming-for-guys kit is more
than just a razor, Chapstick and
cologne (though those are awesome,
too) — it includes homemade reci-
pes for men's moisturizer and scrub.

Gift Card Snow Globe
Giving a gift card doesn't have to be
dull: Toss the envelope and present
it in this DIY snow globe. We love
the sweet little ornaments as embel-
lishments (try to find some in silver
and blue for a Chanukah palette),
or try a few plastic dreidels instead.
Visit TheCreativeMama.com for full
instructions.

Fill an old pasta jar with popcorn

kernels, cinnamon and sugar, print
out a label and cooking instructions,
wrap it up in a grosgrain ribbon and
you're set. Visit CookingWithMyKid.
com for the full recipe, instructions
and free printables.
