Chef Mark Sherman lets guests enjoy a night out
without ever leaving their homes. A foodie since
before he could spell it, Sherman went from
helping his bubbie in her kitchen when he was

a kid to graduating from the Culinary Institute
of America, in Hyde Park, N.Y., the world's

most renowned culinary college. After years
of working in various exceptional restaurants
in Metro Detroit, including Jacques Seafood,
Bernardi's and Norman's Eton Street Station, he
has now curated his skills to a love for creating
specialized meals for people who appreciate it
as much as he does. Sherman offers couples
DINNER FOR TWO — or small dinner parties: the
opportunity for him to come into their homes
and prepare an intimate custom three-to-four-
course dinner or Sunday brunch. He arrives with
everything needed for a comfortably elegant,
beautifully presented and delicious treat, will
verbally present the menu for each course, pair a
wine, answer questions, even do demonstrations
— and, of course, clean up. Guests are greeted
with hors d'oeuvres; offerings include roasted
whole tenderloin, roasted salmon with olive
tapenade, desserts (like this chocolate sushi,
show), after-dinner chocolates, fresh fruit
and more. Dinner for two starts at $325 and
includes flowers, chocolates and a quiet slip out
