MORRIS H. KIMMEL, 87, of Detroit, died Nov. 3, 2014. Mr. Kimmel found- ed Kimmel Scrap Iron and Metal business in 1950 and still came Kimmel into work three days a week. An avid sports fan and golfer, he was one of the first members of the Japanese/American Golf League and was given the name of "Soggy Matzah" by his fellow golfers. He also loved bowling, playing tennis and watching the Tigers. He was also a Hawkeye fan. He was a great story teller and his- torian and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mr. Kimmel was active with the men's club of Beth Moses, Adat Shalom Synagogue and Ohel Moed. His favorite service was Havdalah, and he loved cel- ebrating it with his wife and family. Mr. Kimmel is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Kimmel; daughters and son-in-law, Julie Kimmel Solomon and Akiva Jerry Solomon of West Bloomfield, Sharon Reinherz of Pittsburgh, Pa.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laurie Kimmel of West Bloomfield; grand- children, Debra and Joshua Newhouse, Solomon Newhouse, Daniel Solomon and Biana Kofman Solomon, David Elliot Solomon, Adam and Dr. Ariella Reinherz, Dr. Benjamin and Rebecca Reinherz, Rabbi Avihud and Faiga Kimmel, Emily Leah Kimmel and Stephanie Kurtz; great-grandchildren, Brodie, Kara, Ari, Tahara, Sima, Bella, Raya, Eliana, Rina, Tuvia, Sara; other loving relatives, friends, caregivers and doctors.
