as historical accounts and literary forms.

Rubenstein's lecture will be 10:30 a.m.

Yiddish Book Center Offers
Programs For Students
The Yiddish Book Center in Amherst,
Mass., is offering two programs for college
students and recent graduates.
The Steiner Summer Yiddish Program
is an intensive course in Yiddish for col-
lege students. It runs June 7-July 24.
Applications are due Feb. 10. For informa-

The Yiddish Book Center Fellowship
Program offers recent college graduates
with Yiddish skills an opportunity to work

Boy-Ar-Dee, has been a fam-
ily favorite dinner option
since 1928. Ettore "Hector" Boiardi's
creations of canned pasta products
and sauces have been gracing Jewish
American tables for decades. The
brand's first appearance in the Jewish
News was in 1961. It was marketed
as a cheaper meal alternative to the
Yiddish dish kreplach. Similar to
Italian ravioli or Chinese wontons,
kreplach are small dumplings with
various fillings that are usually boiled
or fired.
In 1961, a can of Chef Boy-Ar-Dee
cost roughly 30 cents! Today a can of
Chef Boyardee is around $1. However,
even with the price increase over the
years, it is still a cheaper alternative to
