Tapper's Jewelry Begins 23rd Annual Coat Drive Tapper's Diamonds and Fine Jewelry has begun its 23rd annual Coat Drive to benefit those in need in the Metro Detroit com- munity. While the economy is showing signs of improvement, Tappers says it is receiving more requests than any year in the past. Through its coat drive, Tapper's supplies warm winter gear — jackets, hats, gloves and blankets — to needy children and adults throughout the area. Over the next couple months, Tapper's will be distributing these items to organi- zations that include Kids Kicking Cancer, Jewish Senior Life, Heart 2 Hart Detroit, Orchard Children's Services, Grace Centers of Hope, Baldwin Center, Mercy Education Project and several local schools. The goal for 2014 is to raise $25,000 and collect 3,500 winter items. Support the drive by dropping off gently worn coats, hats or gloves at any of Tapper's three locations (West Bloomfield, Twelve Oaks or Somerset), Marlee's store, Morgan Stanley locations or WDW studios.
