From life in Eastern Europe to the immigrant experience and settlement in the United States, Yiddish music was a common bond that flowed through the Jewish commu- nity. A Tribute to Yiddish Music is Irina Mishura an afternoon of Jewish folk music and a celebration of Jewish culture. World-renowned per- former Irina Mishura will headline this tribute concert. Mishura has per- formed extensively at the MET and at opera houses across North America and Europe. Her performance in Bizet's Carmen "absolutely floored the audience" according to critics. Performing with Mishura will be Ray Litt and Ben Opengeym. Narration will be by Ellen Labes with accompanist Marina Gutmakaher. This live performance will be at Congregation Beth Ahm in West Bloomfield on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 4:30 p.m. The concert is free and is sponsored by the Walter and Regina Litt Jewish Music Fund.
