Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony return with their
specialty: Mahler. MTT has been associated with the San Francisco
Symphony since his first guest conducting appearance in 1974, and their
Mahler Project, a 17-disc set recorded over an eight-year period of all of the
composer's symphonies and works for voice with orchestra, has won seven
Grammy awards.
