A Bi-National Chamber of Commerce

Michigan Israel Business Bridge is the resource for economic development between Michigan and Israel

he Michigan Israel Business Bridge is a nonprofit
membership organization whose mission is to
promote business and investment opportunities
between Michigan and Israel. MIBB has four strong
building blocks that make up the organization's
foundation.

MIBB founders, Susan Herman and Chuck Newman,
had the vision to create a bi-national trade
organization dedicated to serving its membership.
As many have commented, the inclusion of Business
Bridge in its name fits the mission of the bi-national
chamber perfectly.
Trade missions to Israel created connections and
ties. MIBB leadership accompanied both Governor
Jennifer Granholm and Governor Rick Snyder to
Israel, setting an agenda with focused business
meetings and showcasing companies that would
be a fit for expansion into Michigan. MIBB helps
countless executives arrange meetings between Israeli
companies and their Michigan counterparts and
potential partners.
MIBB transitioned from can we? To we can! In 2010,
MIBB leadership hired a new executive director and
began to elect new members to the Board of Directors
who were full of enthusiasm and had many new
connections. The MIBB Educational Foundation was
formed as a vehicle for public and private donations to
support educating the Michigan business community
to the benefits of collaborating with the start-up
nation of Israel. Since its formation, MIBB has hosted
water, automotive, medical device, agri-tech and
cyber security delegations from Israel. Networking

events and meet-ups with CEOs, technology leaders
and researches continue to be the backbone of the
organization. And along the way, participants at
networking event were recruited for new jobs here in
Michigan.
MIBB has formed a strong foundation and relationship
with the state of Michigan and the government of
Israel. Through funding from both the Michigan
Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and
Israel's Ministry of Economy, MIBB has expanded,
adding a full time business development associate,
creating young professionals programming and
upgrading the website leading to better exposure for
members and potential partners. MIBB offers free
banner ads on its website to Israeli companies as a
sign of solidarity and to increase business between
Michigan and Israel.

Gov. Rick Snyder and Consul General Roey
Gilad sign a memorandum of understanding
to promote industrial research and develop-
ment projects. They are joined (from left to
right) by MEDC President and CEO Mike Finney,
DTMB Director David Behen, Consul of Israeli
Economic Mission Yariv Becher and MIBB vice
president Robyn Lederman.

As MIBB leadership looks to the future, they will
continue holding networking events and meet-ups and
welcoming delegations. Looking toward 2015, they see a
more robust commitment to making personal connections
between entrepreneurs and investors here and in Israel,
and to research partnerships and creating business.

This November, MIBB will be leading a Trade Mission
to Israel. MIBB will be creating unique one-on-one
opportunities for each participant to meet with potential
clients, investment opportunities and much more. MIBB
invites you to join Robyn Lederman, MIBB mission chair,

Hannan Lis and Pamela Lippitt on this unique trade
mission.
