Fisher Foundation Gift
To OSU Business School
Ohio State University Fisher College of
Business has welcomed the inaugural
group of Max M. Fisher Scholars to campus
as a result of a $2.5 million gift from the
Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher Foundation.
The gift supports outstanding first-year
students through scholarship assistance.
Max M. Fisher was the benefactor of
Fisher College of Business. He earned a
business degree from Ohio State in 1930. In
1993, his desire to see the business college
become one of the premier management
institutions in the nation led to a gift that
built the college's current state-of-the-art
facilities.
"My father felt that buildings were just
enabling devices, and it's what goes on
inside that brings out the best in students
and empowers them to impact their com-
munities:' said Phillip Wm. Fisher, vice-
chair of the Max M. & Marjorie S. Fisher

Foundation Board of Trustees.
Overall, the Fisher family has given the
college close to $8 million for scholar-
ships. The most recent $2.5 million gift
will also support the Max M. Fisher Faculty
Eminence Award, honoring individuals
whose teaching at the undergraduate level
is recognized as transformational.
