n Aug. 9, Jacki Jacoby Smith and
Dr. Gordon Smith renewed their
wedding vows. The plans for a
celebration started last year when the couple
discovered Gordon's father's Hebrew name
(and, therefore, Gordon's) was not what they
thought when they married in 2000. The
"ketubah upgrade" evolved into a beautiful
and meaningful vow renewal under a chup-
pah in the couple's Commerce Township
backyard. The ceremony was officiated by
Rabbi Schneor Greenberg of the Chabad
Jewish Center of Commerce/Walled Lake.
