OLDIE BUT GOODIE ... Moishe is
waiting on the platform at the station. He
notices a man standing nearby and asks
him for the time. The man ignores him.
Moishe then asks him again, and the man
responds in the same way. Frustrated,
Moishe asks, "Excuse me, but I've asked
you for the time twice. Why are you ignor-
ing me?"
Suddenly, the man looks up and says,
"We're both waiting for the train. If I answer
you, then when we get on the train you will
come and sit next to me. We will probably
start talking, and I may invite you to my
house for Shabbos. There you will meet my
daughter. You will probably like her. You
may eventually want to marry her. And to
be honest with you, why would I want a

upcoming Michigan Jewish
Sports Hall of Fame Induction and Dinner,
Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Jewish Community
Center, West Bloomfield ... will be base-

fans.
Irwin Cohen, excellent author of many
books on Jewish baseball and other sports
legends and history, including his latest
one heading for a best-seller list, Jewish
History in the time of Baseball Jews, is
wonderful reading.
The other, Jerry Lewis, is director of the
Detroit Tigers Fantasy Camp, formed by
him and former Detroit catcher and local
baseball color broadcaster Jim Price in
1984, and based in Lakeland, Fla.
What stories these two will hopefully
tell at the Michigan Jewish Sports Hall
