Children, parents and grandparents participat- ed in an interactive Shabbat service, followed by a delicious barbecue on Adat Shalom's playground. M ore than 60 classic cars sparkled on the Applebaum Campus in West Bloomfield on Aug. 13 for Jewish Senior Life's seventh annual Senior Dream Cruise. Residents sat in chairs to ensure their view in the front row for the parade of classic cars. With ice cream and music of the '40s, '50s and '60s, the older adults enjoyed being outside on the sunny after- noon as they cheered on the cruisers. The oldest car, a Ford, dated back to 1909. As each vehicle drove by, residents were reminded of fond memories they shared with family and friends as they reflected on the types of cars they had owned over the years. Prior to the cruise, Libby Lavine, program coordinator, and Dream Cruise announcer Barbara Giles, along with JSL CEO Rochelle Upfal, welcomed cruisers at a luncheon.
