Arye is a student at Orchard Lake
Middle School in West Bloomfield. His
mitzvah project was volunteering at
the West Bloomfield Relay for Life.

their 65th wedding anniversary
by renewing their vows at Temple Beth
HaTephila in Asheville on Friday, Aug. 29.
Their daughters and husbands, Marcy and
Tom Gallagher of Asheville, and Bonnie
and Michael Sibner of Fort Lauderdale and
Linville, N.C., will honor the anniversary
with dinner for friends and family. Loving
nieces and nephews from Michigan and
North Carolina will join in the celebration.

eatrice "Bea" Matz of Waterford,
formerly of Chicago, Ill., and
Coconut Creek, Fla., will celebrate
her 100th birthday on Aug. 26. A weekend
extravaganza is planned at the Embassy
Suites Hotel, given with love by her daugh-
ters and sons-in-law, Linda and Howard
Newman of Waterford, and Shari and Chuck
Handel of Chicago. Her grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren, other relatives and
friends will share in this celebration to wish
her continued good health. Her secret to lon-
gevity is to keep eating and be surrounded
by lots of love. She is an amazing woman
who is a joy to be with and an inspiration to all with her lust for life.
