JANET BERMAN, 94, of Detroit,

died July 16, 2014.
She is survived by her daughters
and sons-in-law, Barbara and Zvie
Liberman of Lincolnwood, Ill., Caren
Nederlander and Ed Mishkin, Peggy
Lowe of Skokie, Ill.; grandchildren,
Sarah Silver (Deane Shermet),
Robert (Suzanne) Nederlander, Eric
Nederlander, Esther Lowe; great-
grandchildren, Richard, William,
Ava, Mira Rose.
Mrs. Berman was the beloved wife
of the late Morris Berman; sister
of the late Elaine Lumberg, the late
Peggy Frank, the late Robert Sloman,
the late William Sloman; the mother-
in-law of the late Barry Lowe.
Contributions can be made to
the Fresh Air Society. Interment
took place at the Clover Hill
Park Cemetery in Birmingham.

Cori (Bill) Caskey, Craig Somers;
great-grandchildren, Rachel and
Deven.
Mrs. Berman was the beloved wife
of the late Harry Berman; the sister
of the late Francis King.

Interment took place at Clover Hill
Park Cemetery in Birmingham.

ADELE GAINES, 87 of Boynton

Beach, Fla., died July 14, 2014, from
Parkinson's dementia.
She died on the same date, eight
years apart, as her beloved husband,
Saul. A gentle, kind and funny soul,
Adele was a well-known volunteer
at Detroit's Sinai Hospital. She was a
voracious reader and had an excel-
lent talent for crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Gaines was the daughter of
Zelda and Louis Karp; wife of the
late Saul Gaines; sister of the late
Aaron (Ann) Karp, the late Ann
(Joe) Mendelson, the late David
(Julia) Karp, and the late Sam (Bette)
Karp.
She is survived by her daughters,
Ferne (Andrew) Farkas of Plano,
Texas; and Joy (Moti) Gaines-
Friedler of Farmington Hills; her
son, Robert Gaines of West Palm
Beach, Fla.; beloved grandchildren,
Leah, Noah and Daniel Farkas; three
great-grandchildren; many loving
