A

lthough Rabbi Joseph H. Krakoff
resigned his position as religious
leader at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek (CSZ) in Southfield effective at the
end of July, a group
of congregants are
pressing forward with
a petition for a special
meeting to recall the
synagogue's execu-
tive board because
they are critical of the
board's lack of trans-
parency regarding the
rabbi.
The Save
Our Synagogue
Committee, formed
over this issue, held a
petition drive Sunday Rabbi Krakoff
evening, July 13, at
The Corners in West
Bloomfield that drew about 400 people. The
group gathered nearly 350 signatures on its
petition to put new leadership in place and to
make voices from the congregation heard.
