FESTIVALS
The 15th anniversary of the Michigan
Elvis Fest is one of a handful of events
that is sanctioned by Elvis Presley
Enterprises Inc. The festival, running
4 p.m.-midnight Friday and noon-
midnight Saturday, July 11-12, at
Riverside Park in Ypsilanti, features
award-winning Elvis tribute artists and
more. Some fans hold out hope that
the "King of Rock 'n Roll" really is hal-
achically Jewish; all mothers in Elvis
Presley's birth line run uninterrupted
from a Jewish great-grandmother
named Martha Tacket (1852-1887).
Gate Prices: $15/Friday; $25/Saturday;
