This year's Maimonides Award recipi-
ents were Drs. Marc A. Borovoy, Jeffrey
H. Margolis and David M. Siegel. All
have excelled in their profession and
dedication to serving their commu-
nity, and their support of the economic
strength and security of the State of

Israel.
The guest speaker was Eli Groner,
Israel's minister for economic affairs to
the United States.
More than $1.25 million dollars in
new investment capital was raised. Israel

bringing science, technology and inno-

based, grass-
roots, nonprofit organi-
zation that advocates for
Israel in the community
and on college campus-
es. Founded in 2001 by
Roz Rothstein, Stand With Us was a
response to growing anti-Israel senti-
ments on American college campuses.
The current president of the orga-
nization, Esther Renzer, noted in 2004
that Stand With Us would help cre-
ate a stronger Jewish identity in L.A.'s
Jewish community. Stand With Us
went well beyond that city's borders.
Due to its energetic young members,
the organization quickly expanded and
soon established 16 chapters across
