JEWISH FOLKLORE

11 am noon. A small discussion group is
forming to share Jewish history, folklore or
fairy tales. Connie Harris, author of The Way
Jews Lived and donor of the Jewish Heritage
Collection at the University of Michigan, Ann
Arbor, will lead the discussion. The group
will meet five Mondays beginning June 16.
Another group will also repeat the ses-
sion on five Tuesdays beginning June 17,11
a.m.-noon. The location will be in downtown
Birmingham. Cost: $3 per session to be

10 and 11 in fall 2014, who want to make a real difference in the Detroit

metropolitan community. Over the course of the academic year, the teens

•Learn the ins and outs of the grantmaking process

•Acquire critical research skills and enhance leadership abilities

•Debate social justice issues

•Participate in intensive training on how to evaluate grant proposals from non-profits

•Challenge each other to make thoughtful, insightful grants that address the causes that

matter most to them, within the scope of the mission of The Jewish Fund.
