The Michigan premier of The J Street
Challenge was sponsored by StandWithUs-
Michigan and Zionist Organization of
America-Michigan.
Dr. Charles Jacobs, president of Americans
for Peace and Tolerance, was present to
introduce the film and then to answer ques-
tions from the audience.

Sanctions (BDS) movement who strive to
economically destroy Israel; the "Breaking
the Silence" group that defames Israel
and falsely accuses the IDF of committing
brutal atrocities against Palestinians; and
anti-Israel Muslim lecturers.
Harvard professors Alan Dershowitz and
Ruth Wisse; journalists Caroline Glick and
Bret Stephens; and Rabbi Daniel Gordis
gave factual testimony against J Street in
the film.

ommunity activist Linda Lee,
who died of pancreatic cancer
on March 31 at age 69, built
a groundswell of goodwill among the
many local agencies and causes she
supported through her voluntarism.
Now, during the
"*1
week she would have
turned 70 years old,
the many people she
worked with in the
community are dedi-
cating a week of "doing
good deeds" in her
Linda Lee
memory. The designat-
ed week is May 25-31.
Acts of kindness in Linda's memory

could be as simple as calling to find out
how someone is feeling, donating to a
charity or assisting the infirm — or more
activist roles in fostering equality or
raising awareness of pancreatic cancer.
Joining in will be individuals, for
example, from the Florence Melton
School of Adult Jewish Learning, the
Jewish Community Center, Federation's
Agency for Jewish Education and
Women's Philanthropy, Hebrew Free
Loan, as well as others from throughout
the community.
Participants are invited to share
their efforts and read how others are
honoring this week on the website www.
caringbridge.org/visit/lindalee4. ❑
