ried Jack Lafer, the

at the corner drugstore.
She and her husband made sure that all
of their three children finished school-
ing all the way through college and
beyond. Her grandchildren continued
the tradition and all graduated from
university.
Her daughter Marlene says that her
mother was forever young and forever
kind. Frances maintained friendships
with people of all ages through her
lively spirit and animated personality.
She brightened any activity or conver-
sation of which she was a part. But it
was the goodness of her heart that was
most exceptional. She was the ultimate
optimist and viewed everything and
everyone in the best possible light. She
overlooked flaws and instead focused
on virtue and righteousness. She taught
her family integrity and morality by
example.
