Adi and Maya Siegmann Adi Mati Siegmann and Maya Tzilly Siegmann, son and daughter of Lisa and Tal Siegmann, will be called to the Torah in honor of their b'nai mitzvah on Saturday, May 24, at Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills. Sharing in their happiness will be their little brother Amit Beni, grandparents Joan and Fred Soble (who turns 80 on their simchah) of Beachwood, Ohio, and Judy and Arnon Siegmann of Haifa, Israel, along with beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Adi and Maya are both students at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. Adi's main mitzvah project has been as a Hebrew tutor through Adat Shalom's madrichim program throughout the year. Maya's mitzvah projects have been to volunteer through Haven, many Jewish community events and as part of PeerCorps Detroit. She is the daughter of Karen Simon (Weinstein) and the late Kenneth Simon, granddaughter of Judith and Sydney Weinstein of Bradenton, Fla., and Susan Simon of Bluffton, S.C., and the late Arthur Simon. Her passion and devotion for camp is illustrated in her bat mitzvah project, which is raising money and awareness for Focus For a Future Inc., a nonprofit organization that helps young people from underserved areas experience the unique benefits gained by attending summer camp. Celebrating with Ian Wagner were his proud par- ents, Stephanie and Jason, and his sisters Ella and Sari. He is the grandson of Ava and Ronald Wagner of Oak Park, and Debrah and Leon Warner of Farmington Hills. Ian is a seventh-grader at Norup International School in Oak Park. At a breakfast meeting, trainers shared lobby techniques to influence legislators and the legislation when women face job discrimination. At noon, many organizations gathered in the Capitol Rotunda and heard speeches by legislators about the 74 cents a woman in Michigan makes for every dollar a man makes in the same position.
