Conserve water and energy by equipping your home with an
automatic irrigation system and landscape lighting.
T
oday's technological advances provide
many advantages including conve-
nience, control, saving money and an
overall smarter home. By utilizing the right
technology you can manage your home's
lights, doors, temperature, home entertain-
ment and security systems with your cell
phone or iPad.
But how "smart" is your lawn?
If you're like the majority of homeowners,
stop wasting your time, water and money
by running around with the garden hose
while trying to keep your yard green and
inviting. With an automatic irrigation system
and technology you will be able to conserve
water and keep your lawn looking its best.
Consider this, 26 billion gallons of water
are consumed daily in the United States
and approximately 7.8 billion gallons or 30
percent is devoted to outdoor use, mainly
for irrigation. Did you know in the summer,
the amount of water used outdoors can
exceed the amount you use for all other
purposes for the entire year?
Where do you think we lose the greatest
amount of water in our lawns? Would it
surprise you to know applying too much
water too often can create run off and then
the water is never absorbed? An efficient
irrigation system reduces waste by applying
only as much water as needed to keep your
plants and lawn healthy.

go down the drain — let us install an
efficient irrigation system. These types of
systems include water-efficient irrigation
products. Irrigation systems can also include
controllers that have rain sensors to prevent
sprinklers from turning on during and
immediately after rainfall. There are also
soil moisture sensors that activate sprinklers
only when soil moisture levels drop below
pre-programmed levels. These options help
conserve water, your budget and time.
A Legacy of Conservation
"We've always been on the cutting
edge of irrigation," said Neil Blazofsky,
whose father, Lloyd, was the company's
founder. "We're continuously considering
and testing new technology to help our
customers conserve water. We're among
the top five irrigation contractors in the
state of Michigan and we are an EPA
Watersense Partner."
Neil lives in West Bloomfield with his
wife, Cherie, and children Lauren, a recent
Michigan State University grad, and Seth,
a freshman at Wayne State University.
The family belongs to Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield. Blazofsky is proud of his
company's long legacy of working within
the Jewish community.
"Michigan Automatic Sprinkler installed
the irrigation system at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek's Clover Hill and has
maintained it for the last 25 years," he said.
