be called to the Torah
as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, May 17, at
Temple Israel in West
Broida
Bloomfield. Joining
in her celebration will
be her brothers Jacob, Ben and Jonah.
Her proud grandparents are Soralee
and Gerald Broida, Diane and Dr. Jerry
Goodman, Linda and Bill Allee, Sandra
Weisenthal and great-grandmother Joan
Fisher.
Abigail is a student at West Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. She found vol-
unteering at the Friendship Circle in West
Bloomfield to be the most meaningful of
her many mitzvah experiences.

Bloomfield. Joining in
his celebration will be his brother Miles
and grandparents Eileen Holzman,
Carol Camiener, and Denny and Alan
Camiener. He is also the grandchild of
the late Howard "Buz" Holzman and the
late Jim Herrington.
Hugh attends Cranbrook Kingswood
Boys' Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
Among his many mitzvah projects, he
found volunteering with Detroit's urban
squash program Racquet Up to be the
most meaningful.

Colton, will be called
to the Torah as a bar

May 17, at Temple

Colton
Bloomfield. Joining in
his celebration will be
his siblings Andrew and Brian. His
proud grandparents are Elinor and
Michael Blackstone of Rockville, Md.,
and Gloria and Bruce Colton. His late
great-grandparents are Marjorie and
Samuel Kaufman, Jane and William
Sigmund, Edna and Kenneth
Blackstone, Estelle and Manuel
Gorman, and Diane and Sol Colton.
Chase attends Derby Middle School
in Birmingham. For his mitzvah proj-
ect, he volunteered at the Friendship
Circle in West Bloomfield as a summer
camp counselor in a week-long social
skills camp.

Spinner Haley, will
celebrate her bat
mitzvah at Beth El
Synagogue in
Spinner Haley
Durham, N.C., on
Saturday, May 17. She
has a brother, Avishai Samuel, 18, and
a sister, Davida Segal, 16. Shoshana
Sivan is the granddaughter of Arlene
and Harry Richman of Omaha, Neb.,
Mildred and Edward Rosenbaum of
West Bloomfield, and the late David
Spinner.
Shoshana is a seventh-grader at
Smith Middle School in Chapel Hill,
N.C. For her mitzvah project, she
has been working all year to sup-
port a two-generation family of eight
Burmese Karin refugees.

Jordan Trey Lesson
will lead the congre-
gation in prayer at
Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield as
he celebrates his bar
mitzvah on Friday,
May 16. Joining in
Lesson
his simchah will be
his proud parents,
Susan and Ken Lesson, along with
siblings Ryan and Jamie. He is the
grandchild of Joan and Dr. Jerry
Lesson, and the late Lottie and Robert
Sherman.
Jordan is a student Berkshire
Middle School in Birmingham. As
part of his mitzvah experience, he
raised and donated funds to the
Almost Home Animal Rescue League.

Dov Alexander
Mandel, son of
Lauren and Jay
Mandel, will lead the
congregation in
prayer on Saturday,
May 17, at Temple
Israel in West
Mandel
Bloomfield. He is the
brother of Rachel,
Sarah and Erin. His proud grandpar-
ents are Sheila and David Lipschutz,
and Rene Mandel. He is also the
grandson of the late Tommy Mandel.
Dov attends Bloomfield Hills
Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
For his mitzvah experience, he vol-
unteered at the Eden Garden through
Peer Corps Detroit, which he found to
be very meaningful.
