hen we last heard
from Justin Prinstein
("A Boy of Summer,"
Feb. 21, 2013), he was packing his
bags to become player-manager of
the Hrosi-Brno Hippos, a profes-
sional baseball team in the Czech
Republic, a part-time head coach
of the Hungarian National Team
and had signed on as the European
scouting coordinator for the
Baltimore Orioles.
Since then, he pitched his
last game as a player for the
Janossomorja Rascals in Hungary,
on his 30th birthday on Aug. 16,
2013.
And after seven years playing and
coaching in Europe, Australia and
Israel, he is scouting for the Orioles
in the Midwest and living on the
road.
"I haven't been in more than one
place for 10 days in over a year,"
said Prinstein, sipping an espresso
shot at Starbucks. "I travel around
with a backpack and a rolling suit-
case. I'm on the road even more
than when I was playing."
He's also started his own compa-
ny, Boomer Baseball International
that offers international tours to
