The husband was falling asleep, but the
wife was in a romantic mood and wanted
to talk.
"You used to hold my hand when we
were courting:' she said.
Wearily, he reached across, held her hand
for a second and tried to get back to sleep.
A few minutes later she said, "Then you
used to kiss me:'
Mildly irritated, he reached across, gave
her a peck on the cheek and settled down
to sleep.
Thirty seconds later, the wife said,
"Then you used to bite my neck:'
Angrily, he threw back the bed covers
and got out of bed.
"Where are you going:' she asked.
"To get my teeth!"

Amit Peled,

Jerry Silecchia ... "On a recent
trip to Chicago, I went to
Sheffield's Beer and Wine
Garden in the Wrigleyville
section.
"In addition to their vast
assortment of beer, they have
an interesting menu that
includes authentic barbecued
items. My daughter Heather
Frankel enjoyed the smoked
chicken platter that included
cornbread and her choice of
baked beans.
"Her husband, Mark, opted for a
mouthwatering beef brisket sandwich on a
pretzel roll and a side of house-cut french
fries. The fries were crispy and perfectly
salted.
"I went with the smoked brisket platter
and was not disappointed. The beef was
lean, smoky and delicious. A thoroughly
blended brisket with just enough smoky
flavor. It was a plentiful portion. Sweet and
mild barbecue sauces are on every table. I
was told to try the smoked barbecued ribs,
which I will have on my next visit:"
MAIL DEPT. ... "Here in Florida, we
recently read your article on Beau Jack's
sale. You neglected to mention Mary
Cochran, Jack's wife, who worked tire-
lessly alongside Jack all the years they
owned the restaurant. In addition to
bringing up three children, she oversaw
the entire operation of Beau Jack's with
efficiency and dedication:' ... Susan and
Irwin Small
"Aside from good food, the 'Old World'
English pub ambience was so much a part
of Beau Jack's. We loved to take out-of-
town guests there, mainly because of its
charm. It is with much sadness that it will
not be there in the same way upon our
return to Michigan:' ... Diane Pomish
