Shabbat Dinnt

Zocktail Attin

This choice depends on where the Shabbat dinner is being hosted. If at the home of
family friends or a more casual get-together, go for the casual look. Don't overdress.
Simple dark denim or black pants and blouse will do. If the Shabbat dinner is for a
special benefit, event or says "cocktail" — you know to dress up your look. You could
do a skirt and blouse, a simple LBD (little black dress) and give your basic outfit a
dressier look with statement jewelry.

Match your outfit with the mood for this one! If the party calls for "casual chic" or
"cocktail chic," go all out. Casual chic can be a great look to pull off with a pair of leather
leggings and blouse tank with amazing statement earrings. Another outfit idea: sequined
top, blazer and black pants are both casual chic and cocktail-perfect.
Cocktail chic means to bring out your party dress and a bit of glam; although with
cocktail attire, you don't have to stick to dresses. Bring out your bold, colorful skirt with a
white (or any matching solid color) blouse.
This look, above left, features a Parker Dress from Guys N Gals in West Bloomfield,
earrings from Marlee's by Tapper's in Novi and purse from Shinola in Detroit.
The black leather drape one-piece, above right, is a great cocktail look available at
Rear Ends.

Style Tip: Always remember a great accessory.

' unchtime Simchal'

For this type of simchah — bris, bar/bat mitzvah services followed by a lunch or any
type of luncheon function — the best way to go in terms of fit and style is classic
conservative. However, you don't want to be too boring, so try a dress with colorful
hues or a unique print like this paisley print dress from Hersh's. This navy and yellow
dress from Lisa Perry is available at Found Objects in Birmingham.

Mack TV

The new black tie is a bit more relaxed than traditional long dresses. Keep in mind that it's
always OK to wear a long elegant dress to a black-tie function, but you can also find dressy
knee-length dresses or even a high-low look.
In the picture above, we are highlighting the metallic, sequin sheath dress. This
Jonathan Simkhai (designer to watch for) dress makes a statement and adds extreme
elegance with the mix of gold, black and silver. It is available at Found Objects.
The black dress pictured (Sophia dress from Guys N Gals) is another great option.

Always remember to dress for your body and that confidence is key. Stay chic and shop local!
