Aish's annual comedy night honors
Ellen and Marc Lipton as Community Builders.

n March 31, Aish Detroit celebrated seven years of comedy nights with Israel
Campbell headlining at Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle in Royal Oak. Sam
Silverstein opened with a great act. The evening honored Ellen and Marc
Lipton of Huntington Woods with the 2014 Community Builder's Award. Jewel Kosher
Catering provided a stunning buffet of sushi and salads. The evening was enjoyed by
more than 200 guests who helped make the night a great success. ❑

Plenty For Passover

n March 31, more than 40 volunteers came to
Yad Ezra in Berkley eager to help pack Passover
groceries for clients. The volunteers set up an
assembly line and packed more than 1,200 seder-in-a-box
packages.
On April 6-7, clients picked up their Passover packages
with the assistance of more than 60 volunteers, who put

the packages together and distributed perishables. Clients
received all the food items needed this year to fully be able
to celebrate the holiday. The Passover package included
matzah, chicken, eggs, celery, grape juice, matzah meal,
gefilte fish, horseradish, soup mix, parsley, apples, walnuts,
cake mix, carrots, potatoes, cabbage, vegetable oil, borscht,
cinnamon, tea, margarine and candy. ❑
