Born on Oct. 25, 1934, and raised in Michigan, the son of Morris and Ida Mitteldorf, he married his first and only love, Peggy, in 1961. He served in the Air Force Reserve in 1959 and moved to California in 1970. In his early years, he worked in insur- ance but found his true calling in the commercial collection industry, initially buying into an ongoing agency, Creditors Adjustment Bureau Inc., and then becom- ing its president and CEO. He also loved travel and tennis. He and Peggy have explored the entire world over and particularly enjoyed luxury cruises. He became a member of the Braemar Tennis Club in 1974 and could be found on the courts playing singles three days a week even after his cancer diagno- sis. He was also an avid L.A. Clipper fan and season ticket holder from the "dark days." Bob particularly enjoyed fine wine, granola, Maras biscotti, Dijon mustard and chicken with ketchup. He could rock short shorts and matching sweat suits like nobody's business and had particularly strong beliefs about wearing dress shoes with no socks. Bob has left in his wake an almost
