Melissa (Kane) and Brad Wachler are thrilled to announce
the birth of their daughter, Ellia Peyton. Welcoming her
home were her excited big brothers Parker, 7, and Braiden,
4, and her big sister Arianna, 2. Ecstatic grandparents are
Cheryl and Sheldon Kane, and Mindy and Buzz Wachler
of West Bloomfield. Proud great-grandparents are Layne
and Robert Colman, and Norman and Helen Wachler of
Bloomfield Hills. Ellia is also the great-granddaughter of
the late Pauline and the late Abraham Skore, the late Morris
Weiss, the late Molly and the late Irving Kane, and the late Eileen Wachler.
Jonathan Alpert of

will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Saturday,
April 12, at
Congregation Beth
Shalom in Oak Park.
Alpert
He is the son of Jan
and Steven Alpert and
brother of Jennifer and Madeline. His
proud grandparents are Cynthia and
Stanley Volinsky of New York, N.Y., and
Dr. Edward Alpert of Bloomfield Hills.
He is also the grandson of the late Agi
Alpert.
Jon is a seventh-grade student at
Norup International School in Oak Park.
For his mitzvah project, he enjoyed
working at Yad Ezra in Berkley.

Bennett Joseph
Greenberg will cele-
brate his bar mitzvah
at the Birmingham
Temple in
Farmington Hills on
Saturday, April 12. He
is the son of Elisa and
Greenberg
Ned Greenberg and
brother of Sam and
Talia. Bennett is the grandson of
Carolyn and the late Hugh Greenberg,
and Josefma Baltao and Gordon Stein.
Bennett is in the seventh grade at
Bloomfield Hills Middle School. For his
bar mitzvah project, he worked with
elementary school children at the Boggs
School in Detroit.
Madeline Ashley
Katz, daughter of
Jason Katz and
Tammie Bodner, was
called to the Torah as
a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, April 5, at
Adat Shalom
Katz
Synagogue in
Farmington Hills. Her
proud older sister is Hannah, and her
very proud grandparents are Judy Keys,
Howard and Nancy Katz, and Aaron and
Marilyn Bodner.
Madeline is a student at Dunckel
Middle School in Farmington Hills.
Her most meaningful mitzvah project
was volunteering every week at the
Brown Adult Day Care Program in West
Bloomfield for adults with memory
impairment.
Joshua Max Sherman
will lead the congre-
gation in prayer at
Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield on Friday,
April 11, as he cele-
brates his bar mitz-
vah. Joining in his
Sherman
simchah will be his
proud parents, Ellen
and David Sherman, along with siblings
Jessica, Andrew, Allie, Dakota and Lilli.
He is the grandchild of Jane and Larry
Sherman, the late Janet and the late
Harold Jaffe, great-grandchild of
Marjorie Fisher and the late Max Fisher
and great-grandchild of the late Lillian
and late Fred Sherman.
Joshua is a student Cranbrook School
in Bloomfield Hills. His most meaning-
ful mitzvah project involved Play It
Forward, for which he and his cousin
collected gently used or new sporting
equipment to donate to the Brightmoor
Alliance in Detroit. Considering his love
for sports, it was very special for him to
be able to give children in need things
that they could not get for themselves.

grandmother Marjorie Fisher. Aviv is
also the grandchild of the late Stanley
Wolf and great-grandchild of the late
Max Fisher, the late Lillian and the late
Fred Sherman, the late Helen and the
late David Moor, and the late Lucille and
the late Leon Wolf.
Aviv is a student at Hillel Day School
of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington
Hills. For one of his mitzvah experi-
ences, Aviv donated funds to Animals
for Therapy in Kiryat Yearim Youth
Village.
