ZIP LINE & CLIMBING Here's the reason behind the name: It could just be called a California wine, and that means it could have come from many different places in California. But the winemaker wants to show the more specific flavor of where it comes from, the Alexander Valley, located in northern California in Sonoma County. It is a special reserve wine, rich, flavorful and com- plex, with 13 percent alcohol ($39-$45). It has hints of cedar, black licorice, brown licorice, and is a soft, full-bodied wine. It's kept for about 14 months in an oak barrel, which also gives it some hints of vanilla, which is extracted from the barrel's wood. The Fourth Kos We have all four sons at the seder table, but at the end of the seder, they all sit united as one. In that vein, for the last kos I give you a wine that can be enjoyed by the entire family, including lighter and heavier wine drinkers. Herzog Late Harvest Orange Muscat is a white wine that should be served very cold and is really delicious. Muscat is a kind of grape, just as Golden Delicious is a kind of apple. Orange is a particular type of Muscat grape and is called that, H E k.ZOG in part, because it displays some lively : - _- _-AIN orange citrus flavor. This is a serious dessert wine that's often drunk by real connoisseurs, but can also be thoroughly enjoyed by the novice ($19-$25). ■ ‘„:SCAr These wines are available at One Stop Kosher Market and Spitzers Judaica in Southfield, Plum Market in West Bloomfield and Ann Arbor, and other fine wine stores in Metro Detroit.
