Clothing Drive To Aid
Metro Area Homeless
The Shirt Box is partnering with local
nonprofit Heart 2 Hart Detroit for "A
Very Brief Event:' From Monday, April
14, through Friday, April 18, donors
are encouraged to drop off unused
(new) men's and women's underwear,
socks and backpacks to benefit Detroit's
homeless population.
As an incentive to donate, each donor
will receive 10 percent off their entire
purchase at the Shirt Box when they
make a donation. The discount must be
taken at the time the donation is made.
"Underwear and socks are needed
year-round:' said Larry Oleinick of
Heart 2 Hart Detroit. "And in spring, we
see a huge increase in need for back-
packs. Many of the individuals we serve
want to keep their boots and warmer
clothing. Backpacks make it much
easier for people to keep and transport
these previous donations:'
Donations can be made during busi-
ness hours at the Shirt Box, 32500
Northwestern Highway, Farmington
Hills. Goods then will be collected by
Heart 2 Hart Detroit and distributed to
individuals in need.
Founded by Larry Oleinick in 2012,
Heart 2 Hart Detroit was established to
address the needs of homeless individu-
als living in Metro Detroit. Deliveries
of clothing, shoes, packed lunches and
toiletries are made three times a week
at Hart Plaza and the surrounding area
and shelters.

JTS Precollege Program For
High School Change-Makers
The Albert A. List College of Jewish
Studies of the Jewish Theological
Seminary (JTS), in collaboration with
AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps,
Camp Ramah, United Synagogue
Youth and American Jewish Society
for Service, will launch its new JustCity
Leadership Institute, a transformative,
two-week precollege program for ris-
ing high school juniors and seniors this
summer.
The program will take place from
June 29-July 11 in New York City at JTS.
