LILLIAN BERGER, 90, of Farmington

Hills, died March 22, 2014.
She is survived by her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Leon and Judy Berger of West
Bloomfield; son-in-law, Dr. Michael
Zonder and his wife, Deenie Zonder;
grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey and Silva
Zonder, Erica Zonder and her fiancee,
Jodi, Scott Berger and Shayna Berger;
great-granddaughters, Emily and Hanna
Zonder.
Mrs. Berger was the beloved wife of the
late Irving Berger; the loving sister of the
late Afrom Block.

DOROTHEA "DOLLY" LEAVITT
BOURKE, 77, of Atlanta, Ga., died March

9, 2014.
Dolly was born in the Bronx, N.Y., July
12, 1936. She earned a B.A. in English at
Georgia State University and a master's
in library science from Clark Atlanta
University. She was an avid reader of
nonfiction and enjoyed drawing, paint-
ing, writing and playing the piano.
Mrs. Bourke is survived by her devoted
daughters, Debra Berkowitz Darvick
(Martin) of Birmingham, Mich., Amy
Berkowitz Trager (Steve) and Lisa
Berkowitz Thaler (Martin); grandchil-
dren, Elliot Darvick (Elizabeth), Emma
Darvick, Kevin Trager, Emily Trager and
Henry Thaler; sister, Judy L. Bardach
(Bob); several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents,
Lillian R. and Dr. Jacob M. Leavitt; and
sister, Joyce L. Rosen.
Interment was in Atlanta.

Obituaries

LOUIS HOFFMAN, 91, of Huntington
Woods, died March 17, 2014.
He was born in Detroit to Nathan and
Yetta Hoffman, the second of three boys.
He was a decorated veteran of World War
II and a graduate of the medical school at
Wayne State University.
He practiced psychoanalysis in the
Detroit metropolitan area for more than
50 years and served on the board of gover-
nors of the Wayne State University Medical
School Alumni Association.
He was an avid athlete who also loved
poetry and Yiddishkeit.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Florence, to whom he was devoted for
67 years; his four children: Andrew and
his wife, Wes Brown, and their children,
Samantha, Jacob and Zachary of Palo Alto,
Calif.; Karen and her daughter, Natalie, of
Chevy Chase, Md.; Judy and her husband,
Alan Baumgarten, and their children,
Nathan and Alexandra of Asheville, N.C.;
Anne and her husband, Evan Cohen, and
their children, Sarah, Laura and Dana of
Barrington, R.I.

caring person, gener-

He was a baker at

retirement. He was a
man with a good heart

survived by his brothers and sister-in-
law, Arnold and Joyce Kushmar, Morris

ins and dear friends, Patty Williams, Robert
McQuade and Steve Lickner.
He was the brother of the late Aneale,
the late Martha, the late Louis and the late
Phillip.

ter and son-in-law Lee and Bruce Sack
of Birmingham; son, Steve Milgrom of
California; grandchildren, Alexis and Evan
Sack, Adam, Nicola, Tedi and Andrew
Milgrom.
