hoosing a dress for a special event can be tricky — especially
when you'll be on the synagogue's bimah, where modesty is
required. Whether you are mother of the bar or bat mitzvah
or the bat mitzvah girl herself, all eyes will be on the ladies. Yes, shoul-
ders must be covered, hemlines a certain length and attire should be

respectful overall. But that doesn't mean you can't shine (remember, if
your daughter falls in love with a sleeveless mini, you can always have
a dressmaker add on sleeves, bodice, lengthen the hem and more).
