We are thankful that we lived this long, have our health and see our chil- dren and grandchildren grow, and to be healthy enough to enjoy them." And having them all together at the anniversary party was para- mount for them although Marilyn admits it was a little strange. "We were surprised when we realized what was going on," she said. "It was very weird to be there in that situation, thinking, 'Where has the time gone?' It was also strange signing the ketubah again and being the ones under the chuppah." It was "strange" for their grand- son Ben, also. "Not many people get to hold up the chuppah for their grandparents," he said. Very close with both of them, Ben often visits in Florida. "I love spending time with them, at the pool, out to dinner, no matter what we all do." Mel said, "Sometimes, after so many years, you take things for granted. Sixty years is a lifetime. First you get married, and your life changes from one person to two; then you have children and grandchildren, and the years fly by so quickly. "The ceremony was very touch- ing. Having all the generations of the family there to share our anniversary with us made it per- fect."
