I March 2014 After decades of spending winters in Florida, the Rothenbergs moved there from Farmington Hills three years ago. "Now we do everything togeth- er, except I golf and she crochets and knits," Mel said. Among Marilyn's first comments when hearing someone moved to a new home is: "What color is your living room? I'll make you an afghan." An avid golfer, Mel, rightly so, proudly announced his recent "eagle" (hole played in two strokes under par) on the golf course. "We always enjoyed spending time together, but it was harder to do during the working years, while were raising our family," Mel said. Marilyn was an owner at Just Marilyns women's clothing store in Southfield for 18 years, and Mel is retired from the home improve- ment company All Type Sash that he co-owned for 35 years in Dearborn Heights. "Our kids visit us a lot," Mel said. "Our grandkids, too; and we talk on the phone with them on a regular basis." They also have friends of all ages. "We have respect for our continued on page C50
