A World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Schein was stationed in the Pacific and worked with radar technology. Alice was cherished by her family and friends; many people thought of her as their best friend. She was there for every- one, touching and enriching lives in pre- cious ways. Mrs. Segal attended Hunter College High School in New York City, Queens College and earned her Ph.D. in psy- chology at the University of Michigan. She had Segal a private practice until c. 1997 2009, retiring from a career she loved due to illness. Alice was an avid reader and trav- eled the world with her husband. She was admired by those who loved her for her sharp intellect, fabulous cooking and bak- ing, and her beautiful gardens. She was the beloved wife for 62 years of Andrew Segal; wonderful, loving mother of Richard, Bruce (Terry), Robert and Abby; grandmother of Jessica, Michael and Daniel.
