Boom I Magnolia by the Lakes Dr. Farideh Bagne Redefining Magnolia by the Lakes: A luxury European resort village in Oakland County. r. Farideh Bagne had a vision. It's a senior luxury resort in Keego 1-0/ Harbor, Mich., but it's "winter-less." It's a place where you can watch the sunrise over Sylvan Lake, then gaze at the golden sun as it sets over Cass Lake — perhaps from your own balcony with a glass of wine, or on a pontoon cruise, enjoying a refreshing mimosa. An old-fashioned European street with decorated light posts and wrought-iron benches, a covered and heated walkway over Cass Lake Road takes you to an indoor European Village Square, where you can enjoy a croissant at a French patisserie, a Guinness at an Irish pub or maybe a Spanish sausage or an Italian gelato while watching the waves over Cass Lake. The Village Square offers a bronze water fountain where plants 16 BOOM Magazine • February 2014 and flowers abound, a grandchildren's activ- ity center and a gift shop, supplying crafts made by residents with proceeds going to a worthy cause. Also included will be a fully equipped library, private conference room, several dining rooms, as well as outdoor dining with a view of the lakes. The complex also will have a chapel, beauty salon, billiard room, movie theatre, activity room and an exercise room with a fitness expert to help residents stay fit and healthy. Each villa will feature a wall with a scenic mural chosen by the resident. "When you enter Magnolia by the Lakes, it will be as if you have been transformed into a European seaside village," said Dr. Bagne. "It's all designed to eliminate winter blues and cabin fever."
