ANN BARTH, 83, of Southfield, died
Feb. 17, 2014.
She was a member of Congregation
Beth Shalom and an officer of the Beth
Shalom Sisterhood.
Mrs. Barth is survived by her sons
and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Ellen
(Taylor) Barth of Oak Park, David and
Adina Barth of Oak Park; son, Thomas
Barth of West Bloomfield; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Ellen and David
Alster of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren,
Jonathan (Marissa Kresch), Adam
and Rachel Barth, Rivka, Shoshana
(Zach Sicherman) and Miriam Barth,
Charlotte, Eli and Isabel Alster; great-
granddaughter, Yakira Sicherman.
She was the wife of the late Earl Barth;
sister-in-law of the late Julius "Jim" Barth.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to
Congregation Beth Shalom, Hadassah,
JNF or a charity of one's choice.

ANGEL BERGER, 72,
of Commerce, died Feb.
23, 2014.
She is survived by

cousins, Nili, Taami, Steve; former hus-
band, Gary Berger; many other loving

Mrs. Berger was the daughter of the
late Joe Bobrick.

at Machpelah Cemetery in Ferndale.

Mr. Blau was a proud
World War II veteran.
He is survived by

65 years, Mary Jean

Bloomfield, Linda (Dr. Barry) Hoffman
of Calgary, Alberta, and Joe (Nancy)
Blau of Las Vegas, Nev. He was the
proud papa of Ashley (Noah) O'Neill of
Chicago, Jordyn Bellet of Los Angeles,
Ryan (Jocelyn) Hoffman of San Diego,
Adam (Alexandra) Hoffman of Calgary,
Lindsay (Gary) Portnoy of Brooklyn,
N.Y., and Stefanie (Stephen) Spiegel of
Chicago; the beloved great-grandfather
of Ryan Elisabeth O'Neill, Judah and
Levi Portnoy, and Alexis Spiegel. He is
also survived by his sister, Esther (the
late Maury) Morger; his brother-in-
law, Allen (the late Elizabeth) Buch,
Maurice and Marjorie Kurzmann; many
dear nieces and nephews, cousins and
friends.
Mr. Blau was preceded in death by
his dear siblings, the late Edith (the late
Irving) Wyman, and the late Edward
(the late Florence) Blau.

took place at Beth Abraham Cemetery

Bloomfield, died Feb. 21, 2014.
She is survived by her beloved hus-

son, Charles Bletstein of Redford; sis-
ters and brother-in-law, Diane and
Mark Caskey of Palm City, Fla., Natalie
Rosenfield of West Bloomfield; devoted
cousins, Russell, Zachary, Rebecca,

Allison, Rylan, Cayla; many other loving
family members and friends.

COHEN, 89, of
Bradenton, Fla., for-

Bloomfield, died Feb.
22, 2014.
She was a champion
gymnast, avid skier,
horseback rider and
exquisite jewelry artist.
Mrs. Cohen was the beloved wife of
Moshe "Buddy" Cohen; loving mother
to her sons, Jan (Miho), David (Pamela),
Darian (Barbara) Stepka; daughter, Terry
(Bill) Sampson; adoring grandmother
to Anna, Jo, and Miranda Stepka; lov-
ing stepmother to sons, Brian (Frannie),
Jason (Carolyn) Cohen; daughter, Denise
Ellis and family; dearest aunt to loving
nieces, nephews and families; eternally
loyal to Sokol and all Sokol families. She
will be greatly missed by friends and
neighbors.

CAROL S. FRANK, 67,
of Bingham Farms,
died Feb. 17, 2014.
She was an elegant
lady in jeans and a
T-shirt. Carol was born
in Detroit and gradu-
ated from the Ligett
Carol Frank
School, the University
of Michigan with both
a bachelor's and master's degree; she
took additional studies at the University
of Minnesota and Missouri. She had a
long career as a bookkeeper and tutor

and was known as the "math goddess" to
her many students. She was kind and a
mother to all she knew.
Mrs. Frank is survived by her lov-
ing husband, Jerome (Jerry) Frank; her
sons, Dr. Jay (Lisa) Homburger, Richard
(Heather) Homburger, Mathew Frank;
daughter and son-in-law, Lauren (Jared)
Gell; her mother, Estelle Robinson;
brother, James Robinson; grandchil-
dren, Hayden, Hudson and Charles
Homburger, and Theodore Gell.
She was pre-deceased by her father, Dr.
Harold Robinson; her sister-in-law, Lori
Frank; her mother-in-law, Esther Frank.
