obituaries Obituaries from page 49 ETHEL MILLER SIEGEL, 93, of Bloomfield Hills, died Feb. 9, 2014. Ethel was born in 1920 to her loving parents, Joseph Miller, born Nathan Schulman Ethel Siegel in Austria in 1879, and Sarah Miller, nee Sarah Levy born in New Jersey in October 1890. She always had the spirit of achieve- ment. As a young lady, she first made the newspapers when she was the highest sell- er of war bonds to support the U.S. troops during World War II. Ethel decided to put her war bond sales techniques to work and became a pioneer in representing the manufacturing industry. As an aspir- ing saleswoman, she joined her brother William in starting Miller & Associates, a firm specializing in representing manufac- turers throughout the United States. Ethel earned fame from her success in representing and bringing to market the Hula Hoop and bringing Coppertone to market in Michigan and the upper Midwest. In her final days, prior to retiring, Ethel traveled and worked for Mallory Industries, selling snowbrushes, sponges, squeegees, aluminum poles and other items. She will be missed. On Feb. 4, 1961, Ethel married Joseph Siege Jr. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Caroline S. Miller; her nieces and neph- ews. She was preceded in death by her broth- er, William H. Miller, (1918-2007); and her husband, Joseph Siegel Jr. (1918-1996). Interment will be in the Siegel Family Mausoleum, Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit. Arrangements by Ira Kaufman Chapel.
