She was a beauti- ful woman and her beauty was in part from how she con- Dovitz ducted her life. She was "Sweet Lorraine" even as she went through illness. She modeled living with integrity and went out of her way to make things the best they could be. She was a loving life partner with husband Sol for 64 years, and together they created a home of love and kind- ness with their children. Her work as a longtime first-grade teacher at Bow Elementary (Detroit Public Schools) was very meaningful for her; she viewed it as an opportu- nity to get the children off to a good beginning of their school years. Throughout the years she enjoyed an active life with bowling, tennis, golf, bridge, mahj, travel and a circle of friends. She was a devoted grand- mother, attending her grandchildren's activities whenever she could; she later delighted as the family circle grew with grandchildren's weddings and the birth of a great-grandson.
