HENRY "HANK" GORDON, 87, of
Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away peacefully
on Jan. 18, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his loving
wife, Debbie.
He is survived by sons, Ron Grodsky
(Ellen), Lou Gordon (Michelle); daughter,
Sandy Gordon (John Meier); brother, Phil
Grodsky; numerous nieces, nephews and
grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at Eden
Memorial Park in Mission Hills, Calif.

Jan. 3, 2014.
A veteran of the Army
Air Corps in World War
II, Mr. Miller was a navi-
gator and bombardier
for B-17s and B-24s.

More than 40 years ago, Mr. Miller
became the founder of Dig-Sum-Gems and
traveled across the United States, Europe,

Doctor."

and a bronze life master of the American
Contract Bridge League.
Mrs. Redfield is survived by her hus-
band of 65 years, John H. Redfield; sons
and daughter-in-law, John Redfield Jr. and
Pam Redfield of Highland Park; Robert
Redfield of Southfield; daughter and son-
in-law, Jane and Dr. Richard Schwartz
of Bloomfield Hills; grandchildren,
Alison Redfield, Rebecca Redfield, Brian
Schwartz and fiancee, Jenny McJunkin,
and Jessica Schwartz; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Leonard Stern, William and
Lynn Redfield, Pam Redfield and Ellen

Mrs. Redfield was the loving sister of the

FRANCES RICE, 91, a resident of the
Fleischman Residence in West Bloomfield,
passed away peacefully Jan. 24, 2014.
Mrs. Rice, a Wayne State University
graduate, was an educator in the Detroit
Public Schools.
She was preceded in death by her
beloved husband, David; brothers and

sister-in-law, Jack Beckwith, Arthur and
Dorothy Beckwith, and Barry Beckwith.
Mrs. Rice is survived by her children,
William (Velvel) and his wife, Tova, of
Jerusalem; and by the twins, Michael
and Steven; grandchildren, Rabbi Yehuda
and Rachel Blau of Bnei Brak, Israel, and
Chana Rice; cherished sisters-in-law, Faye
and Marilyn Beckwith; many nieces and
nephews.
The family offers a special thanks to
Rabbis Avi Shapiro and E.B. Friedman and
the staff at Hebrew Memorial Chapel. The
family is also grateful to the Fleischman
Residence for making her final years joy-
ful.
