died Dec. 22,
2013, with her
Ziegler
family at her
side.
She worked for many years for
Northwest X-Ray, A-Z Vending Co.
and Lenny's Deli. She was also a
partner at Gateway Deli and was
active in its operation.
Mrs. Ziegler was an avid bridge
player and a Life Master. She
bowled with B'nai B'rith and had a
299 game to her credit.
Mrs. Ziegler is survived by
her beloved husband of 55 years,
Richard; daughter, Sondra (Adam)
Lewinson of Los Angeles, Calif.;
son, Andrew (Wendy) Ziegler of
West Bloomfield; sisters, Merle
Davis of The Villages, Fla., and
Sheri Leeds of Dallas, Texas; broth-
er, Harlan Leeds of Dallas; grand-
children, Hayli and Mikael Ziegler,
Amelia and Sher Lewinson; many
other relatives and friends.
Services were held in Leesburg,
Fla. Contributions may be made to
a charity of one's choice.

teen whose fight
against a rare genetic
disease that causes acceler-
ated aging was chronicled in
an Academy Award-contending
documentary has died.
Sam Berns of Foxborough,
Mass., died Friday after a lifelong
battle with progeria. He was 17,
three years older than the typical
life expectancy for children with
the disease.
