Siberian pianist Denis Matsuev, winner of the 1998 International Tchaikovsky Competition and a

relatively recent UMS discovery, has wowed UMS audiences three times in recent years: twice as

soloist with the Mariinsky Orchestra and in a powerful solo recital in January 2012. "His technique

is phenomenal...perhaps he is the new Horowitz." (London Times)
