ERVIN GOLD, 92, of
Oak Park, died Jan. 5,
2014.
An M.P. (military
police) during World
War II, Mr. Gold was
stationed stateside. He
was a retired grocery

store owner, and he had
been an active volun-
teer with Kadima.
Mr. Gold is survived by his daughter
and son-in-law, Judy and Brian Duncan
of Riverview; daughter-in-law, Susan
Gold; sister-in-law, Beverly Gold; grand-
children, Jason Gold, Joshua Gold and
fiance, Olivia, and Tracy Duncan. He is
also survived by Stuart Zakon and many
other loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gold was the beloved husband
for 58 years of the late Eileen Gold; lov-
ing father of the late Steven Gold; dear
brother and brother-in-law of the late
Bernie Gold, the late Lillian and the late
Theodore Zakon.
Contributions may be made to Kadima,

Services were held at Oppenheim Chapel
at Machpelah Cemetery in Ferndale.

91, of West Bloomfield,
died Jan. 11, 2014.
She is survived by

Mrs. Goldstein was the beloved
wife for 67 years of the late Maxwell
Goldstein; the adored daughter of the
late Molly and the late Louis Kozak.

FREDERICK GOREN,
85, of Bloomfield Hills,
died Jan. 7, 2014.
He was a former co-
owner with his broth-
ers of City Building
Maintenance, a com-
mercial and industrial
maintenance company

in Detroit. City Building Maintenance
stemmed from City Window Cleaning
and Painting owned by his father and
founded in 1910.
Mr. Goren is survived by his wife of
62 years, Eleanor Goren; daughters and
sons-in-law, Karen and Dr. Gary Fanton
of California, and Lesley and Dr. Barry
Gimbel of Wisconsin; grandchildren,
Daniel and Jamie Fanton, Sara and
Jason Weiser, Adam Fanton, Darren
and Andrea Fanton, Justin Gimbel, Dr.
Brandon and Dr. Devon Gimbel, and
Harrison Gimbel; great-granddaughters,
Caylin Fantona and Zoe Weiser; brother
and sister-in-law, Irwin and Donna Goren
of Bloomfield Hills; sister and brother-
in-law, Jean and Jeffrey Clemes of Ann
Arbor; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-
law, Wahli Goren, Manuel and Margaret
Spinner, and Mildred and Edward
Rosenbaum; nieces and nephews.
He was the beloved son of the late
Louis and the late Helen Goren; loving
brother of the late Gerald Goren; the
dear brother-in-law of the late David
Spinner.

HARRY KLETTER, 86,
died Jan. 5, 2014, at his
Florida home in The
Villages.
He was born in
Detroit on March 14,
1927, served in the
Navy, attended the
Kletter
University of Michigan
and graduated from
Wayne State University in Detroit.
In 1953, Mr. Kletter moved to
Louisville, Ky., and opened Tri-City
Scrap Baling, a recycling and scrap
metal business. Throughout his 60-plus
years in business, his entrepreneurial
ambition enabled him to create many
companies including Tri-City Industrial
Services, Mobile Waste Controls,
Louisville Athletic Club, Computerized
Waste Systems, Tri-Pak Equipment and
Industrial Services of America (ISA).
He recently retired as CEO and chair-
man of the board of ISA after nearly
three decades of service. He is widely
viewed as a visionary in the waste and
recycling industry and was inducted into
the Environmental Industry Association
Hall of Fame in 2003, which recognizes
leaders who have been actively engaged
in the waste industry for at least 25
years and whose creative ideas, innova-
tive concepts and contributions have
made a significant difference to the
industry as a whole.
Mr. Kletter was a past board member
of the Louisville Jewish Community
Center and with the Kentucky Economic

Council under Gov. John Y. Brown.
He loved to travel, workout, play ten-
nis and racquetball, fly airplanes and
mentor young business people.
Mr. Kletter is survived by his wife
of 60 years, Bobbie; daughters, Debbie
Montz (Art), Alisa Pipkin (Senator EJ),
Tina List (Ed); son, Ronald (Rhonda);
grandchildren, Eric and Adam Montz,
Carter, Meredith and Tyler Pipkin, and
Alexis List; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his par-
ents, Max and Maya Kletter, and brother
Sam.
Interment was in Bloomington, Ind.

MARGOLIN, 91, of
Southfield, died Jan. 7,
2014.
He is survived by

California; grandchildren, Robert Tyler

the past eight years, Beatrice Moss.
Mr. Margolin was the beloved hus-

the mother of his children; the devoted
son of the late Herman and the late Ida
Margolin.

JACK ROWENS, died Jan. 11, 2014,
after 96 wonderful years.
He is survived by his loving wife,
Marilyn Rowens; daughter, Tracey
Rowens; son and daughter-in-law, Dr.
Bradley Rowens and Dr. Julie Finn, so-
loved granddaughter, Alissa Rowens;
brother, Robert (Nettie) Rubinstein;
sister, Jean Dudelson; all of his dear
nieces and nephews; many members and
friends of the Detroit Tennis and Squash
Club.
He was the brother-in-law of the late
Stanley Dudelson, brother of the late

Lawrence (the late Sella) Rubinstein.
A memorial service and reception
will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, 11 a.m. at
the Birmingham Temple, 28611 W. 12
Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48334.

MARVIN SHARON,
65, of Bloomfield Hills,
died Jan. 6, 2014.
He received his bach-
elor's degree from the
University of Michigan,
was a graduate of the
University of Detroit
Law School; his mas-
ter's degree in tax law
was from Cooley Law School.
Mr. Sharon practiced law for 40 years,
beginning in Detroit and the last 22
years in Royal Oak.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years,
Marge Sharon; daughters, Elizabeth
Sharon and Alexis Sharon; sisters-in-law
and brothers-in-law, Elayne Sharon, Jane
Radner and Daniel Greenberg, Cathy
Radner and Russell Linden; nieces,
nephews and a world of friends.
Mr. Sharon was the devoted son of the
late Etta and the late Nathan Sharon; the
dear son-in-law of the late Belle and the
late Irving Radner; the loving brother of
the late Dr. Stuart Sharon.
Interment was at Machpelah
