PHILLIP MILLER, 89, of Oak Park, died Jan. 3, 2014. A veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II, Mr. Miller was a navi- gator and bombardier for B-17s and B-24s. A past B'nai B'rith bowler, he was also a past president of the Chatham Condo Association of Century Village in Florida. More than 40 years ago, Mr. Miller became the founder of Dig-Sum- Gems and traveled across the United States, Europe, England, China, South America and Mexico and became known as "The Rock Doctor." He is survived by his children, Shelby and Harriette Miller of Oak Park, Richard and Lynn Miller of Westminster, Calif., Bruce Miller of Howell and Etta Sue Long of Loxahatchoo, Fla.; grandchildren, Stacey and Jeff Diskin, Jason and Shu-huei Miller, Ira Miller, Caryn and Jason Bock, Scott and Tina Miller, Brad and Kristin Miller, Shaun and Ashley Miller, Brian Miller, Alicia Miller, Jacob and Danielle Long and Jenna Long; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Megan, Alyssa, Carter, Logan, Samantha, Morgan, Jack, Josh, Madisen, Addison, Gaven, Katelynn and Caleb. Mr. Miller was the beloved husband for 64 years of the late Margaret "Marge" Miller; cherished brother of the late Julius Miller and the late Maurice Miller. Interment was at Hebrew Memorial Park. Jerome) Kroot Reich of Bloomfield Hills; sisters, Blanche Rifkin and Gertrude Goldstein of New York; granddaughters, Stefanie Steinberg and Heather Kroot; great-grand- sons, Levi Steinberg and Ari Kroot. She is survived by her beloved hus- band, Morris Sherman; sons, Dr. Stephen Sherman of Ocala, Fla., Kenneth Sherman of Southfield; daughters and son-in-law, Sophia Cohen of Englewood, Ohio, Dr. Susan (William Hirschhorn) Sherman of West Bloomfield; sister, Sylvia Mevis; grandchildren, Michael Cohen, Justin Cohen, Rebecca (Maurizio) Carcagno Rodriguez, Shoshana Hirschhorn, Max Hirschhorn; great-grandchild, Leo; many other loving family members and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Doree Soble; sons and daughters-in- law, David and Shelly Soble of West Bloomfield, Ryan and Jennifer Soble of Bloomfield Township, Brett and Christina Soble of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; daughters and son-in-law, Hydee Soble of Waterford, Staci and John Weyer of Waterford; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Marilyn Soble of Orchard Lake; grandchildren, Noah, Zoe, A.J., Hannah, Rebecca, Alana, Jack, Charlotte, Rocco and Giana. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mr. Soble was the brother of the late Dr. Allen Soble.
