SYLVIA SCHANE, 92, of Florida and
Michigan, died Dec. 17, 2013.
Mrs. Schane was a former member of
Adat Shalom Synagogue as well an active
volunteer with many organizations,
including JARC.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Steven
Schane of San Francisco; daughters
and son-in-law, Deborah and Bill Dion
of Ormand Beach, Fla., and Susan E.
Schane of Bloomfield Hills; grandchil-
dren, Rebecca Emily Schane, Dayna (Jay
Suydam) Dion, Mollie Schane, Jennifer
Dion, Claire Schane and Peter Schane;
great-grandchild, Madeleine Suydam;
brother, Jordan Rossen of Southfield.
Mrs. Schane was the beloved wife of
the late Dr. David Schane; the loving sis-
ter and sister-in-law of the late Geri and
the late Harry Portner.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions may be
made to JARC, 30301 Northwestern
Hwy., Farmington Hills, MI 48334;

VOLK, 54, of Okemos,

57, of West Bloomfield,
died Dec. 3, 2013.
She is survived
by her sons, Bradley

Donahue, both of
West Bloomfield;
Sweet
brother and sister-in-
law, Errol and Berry Sweet of Phoenix,
Ariz.; nephew, Andrew (Stacey) Sweet;
niece, Amy Sweet; great-niece, Samantha
Sweet; former spouse, Dean Donahue;
special cousin, Shelley Kalmus; aunt,
Lenore Fogelman; many loving cousins
and friends.
Penny was the daughter of the late
Dorothy and the late Larry Sweet; sister
of the late Alan Sweet.
Contributions may be made to the
Multiple Sclerosis Society or to the
Michigan Humane Society. Interment
took place at Clover Hill Park Cemetery
in Birmingham. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.
